Ambedkar, Society, India, Education

Dear Bahujan Samaj Friends,
As a Buddhist myself, I have had the ocassion to read some of the writings of Dr BR Ambedkar especially the ones, which address the issues of social inequality, Hindu social system and Buddhism.
I must apologize that despite my years of very high and sophisticated education, in formal streams as well as deliberately informal streams, from the university of life, I hardly had an ocassion to read the writings and speeches of Dr Ambedkar in any great detail and with focussed attention.
The prism of modern Indian politics always clouded my vision.
At this late stage in my life I can only apologise for my monumental ignorance and at the same time wonder at how, as intellectuals, we can often be so completely off track. Indeed, monumental ignorance is the only term that comes to my mind now.
This Internet blog is a preliminary attempt in the virtual world of Internet and blogging, to make amends, for the years of my incomplete education, training, pushing half truths, debating false premises.
I do hope that in this blog, I can try and make some amends for my monumental ignorance, of decades of education in India and abroad, in the best schools and universities, with the most sophisticated of mental constructs and paraphernalia, as well as in the university of life.
Please do regard this blog, as my late but nevertheless, truthful and sincere appreciation of the sheer importance of Dr Ambedkar, in any historical and philosophical discussions, relating to Indian history, Indian thought and Indian future.
There can be no concept of a real India, without giving reality to the vision that Dr Ambedkar had for India.
